This year’s Seattle Pride Parade was opened with a moment of silence led by Seattle’s first openly gay mayor, Ed Murray, honoring those who lost their lives at Orlando’s Pulse gay nightclub.
“We’re grieving because of what happened two weeks ago today, but we are also here to celebrate our diversity,” Murray said, “and no one will make us stop.”
This sentiment underscored this year’s celebration, which swelled to almost 500,000 people. Seattle Summer Fun was at the parade this weekend and had an amazing time! Check out our video and I think you will agree that this year’s parade was definitely something you won’t forget!
