It is incredible that there are people that want to get up at who knows what time in order to start a race at 6:30 am on a Saturday! And this isn’t a light jog before work, it’s an Olympic distance 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike ride and 10K run. It’s just amazing! Come and watch these astounding athletes compete at Seward Park in this year’s Swedish Seafair Triathlon Sunday morning and cheer them on as they race to victory!
Pre-Race Day Pickup and Last Minute Registration
If you are participating in the race, you can stop in Saturday at Seward Park from noon to 4:00 pm and pick up everything you will need for race day, including your chip, bib and have the opportunity to be body marked. Don’t feel like bringing your bike in on Sunday? Participants can rack their bike a day early for $10.
Want to participate but like to put off registration until the very last minute? The Pre-Race Expo is your very, very last chance, there is no race day registration.
Race Day Starts Early!
There are four different start times on Sunday, depending on the race and course being run:
6:30 am Olympic Challenge & Duathlon Course Start
This race was voted the PNW’s best triathlon and is Seattle’s only Olympic distance course! The Olympic Challenge course is a 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike ride and a 10K run and the Olympic Duathalon course is a 20-mile bike ride and 10K run.
7:20 am Sprint Course Start
The sprint race starts 40 minutes after the Olympic start and is a .5-mile swim, 12-mile bike ride and a 5K run.
10:30 am Kids Beginner Course Start
11:00 am Kids Intermediate Course Start
The kid’s races starts at 10:30 am and are on a fun, custom-designed course just for kids! The beginners course features a 50 yard swim, 1-mile bike ride and a .2 mile run, the intermediate course starts a half hour later with a 100 yard swim, 2-mile bike ride and a .5 mile run. Kids need to be at least 6 to participate. The beginners swim course is knee to waist deep so kids can stand up if necessary, the intermediate course may require some actual swimming.
Post Race Celebration
The finish chute at the event will be lined with food and drinks for your recovery after the race! Once you’ve recovered, join the post-race celebration in the park featuring music, vendor booths, the Washington Athletic Club’s relaxation lounge and a visit from some of your favorite Seafair personalities!
Awards will be given to the top three men and women from each race course at the 11:15 am Awards Ceremony. Make sure to come by and cheer on the top finishers!
